Some people become completely absorbed in cooking, or gardening, and find these chores relaxing. Myself, I like folding laundry and ironing. I used to volunteer to iron my brothers' shirts growing up. Sometimes I do it mindfully, really enjoying the warmth of the fabric and seeing the transformation into crispness. Sometimes I just let my mind wander into a nice reverie.
I know how important it is to connect with Nature every day, but I found just the place I wanted to live in Fox Point, except it has no views at all, save one glimpse into my neighbor's lovely garden, and no yard. But I knew it was only three blocks to India Point Park, overlooking the mouth of Narragansett Bay, so I signed some papers on the spot and promised myself to walk to the Park everyday. And I do, and am rewarded with sailboats, long views, flowers, neighbors, fog horns, mist, ozone in the air, and these guys:
